I got to Titusville with Kirk this weekend excited to get started on fabrication only to learn the copper that arrived from Corken Steel was the wrong product. In hand-seaming the temper or “hardness” of the copper is very important as a starting point. The correct temper to start with for hand-seamed roofing is 1/8th hard.
I showed up to find we had received dead soft. This is not suitable for architecture and is mostly used properly for artwork, press working, turning, and other applications. It has no business on a roof.
I did another experiment with the time-lapse filming on the bat phone. hopefully I can set up a rig to get progress shots once we start up top!
